Educational collaboration is a critical component of the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance because such efforts expand opportunities and reinforce value for faculty and students alike. The role of the Alliance is to search for and identify opportunities to expand programs and share educational experiences of professional students. This innovative program to encourage collaboration is a national model for sustained collaboration. Efforts in the areas of academic calendar alignment, joint committee structure, curriculum development, faculty appointments, research efforts, and dual degree programs are examples of the success of working together for the benefit of both institutions.
