Dr. Robert Coffey is Professor of Medicine (Gastroenterology and Medical Oncology) and Cell and Developmental Biology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr. Coffey joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1986. He is the Director of the Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center GI Cancer Program as well as Principal Investigator of the NCI-funded Mouse Models of Human Cancers Consortium and GI Special Program of Research Excellence, both of which focus on colorectal cancer. Dr. Coffey's major research interests are in epithelial growth and differentiation, trafficking of EGF receptor ligands in polarized epithelial cells, GI malignancy and Ménétrier’s disease. Dr. Coffey is an Ingram Professor and Wallace Professor of Medicine.
