MVSA Vision Statement:
The mission of MVSA is to serve as a creative outlet for student development of leadership skills, to develop esprit de corps with other professional students, to stimulate intellectual growth, to master negotiation skills, to learn to support team initiatives, to encourage the development of ideas, and to take responsibility for defining and enhancing the educational opportunities of students.

Duties and Responsibilities: To oversee activity of all sub-committees, to assure that strategies are moving forward, to convene meetings, to become involved in dispute resolution, and to conduct MVSA meetings.
MVSA Community Outreach Subcommittee Vision Statement:
The vision of the Community Outreach Sub-committee is to join together interested students from all schools of both institutions in joint efforts to benefit the community, to build relationships within the community, to increase awareness of community needs, and to develop a heightened sense of compassion, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.

MVSA Educational Programming Subcommittee Vision Statement:
Students from all schools of both institutions intend to work together in the development and implementation of cross-campus innovative educational activities of student interest to broaden and enhance the educational experience

Duties and Responsibilities: To define educational programs and events of interest to students, to recruit committee members, to encourage student involvement and participation, to coordinate (whenever feasible) activities that also include an outreach activity, to assure that articles are written after events.
MVSA Social Subcommittee Vision Statement:
It is our aim to help forge long-lasting and collegial relationships between Meharry and Vanderbilt professional students through student-driven, organized, and entertaining social functions at several convenient times during the school year to foster collaboration and the exchange of ideas

MVSA Communication Subcommittee Vision Statement:
The primary vision of the Communication and Information Sub Committee is to assure that timely, accurate information about MVSA educational, outreach, and social opportunities is distributed to MVSA students in every appropriate manner to keep students apprised of all activities that affect them. Some examples include keeping the bulletin board of each school updated with pictures, announcements, etc. and sending email updates about events.

Duties and Responsibilities: To develop and implement a strategy to assure that students from all schools are given information about MVSA (Meharry: SOM, SOD, GRS Vanderbilt: SOM, SON, GRS) activities, etc., to recruit committee members to help with this distribution, to encourage student involvement and participation, to work closely with all sub-committees to stay abreast of all communications needs, to use all methods available (email broadcasts, talking to classes, posters, flyers, etc.), to evaluate the need for student surveys to guide MVSA strategies.
MVSA Newsletter Co-Editors -To publish on a regular basis an MVSA newsletter for use by professional students and others as an update to feature recent activities in areas of interest, to highlight students, and to provide information about upcoming events.
