Medical Grand Rounds presents 'Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction – Where We Are in Solving This Mystery'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Medical Grand Rounds continues Wednesday, March 30, with Olabisi Akanbi, M.D., Chief Resident of the Department Internal Medicine at Meharry Medical College. Akanbi's lectured, titled "Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction – Where We Are in Solving This Mystery" begins at 12:10 p.m. in the S.S. Kresge Learning Resource Center's Lecture Hall 1.

MVSA assists with Second Harvest, hosts Community Day

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Last month, the Meharry-Vanderbilt Student Alliance volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and, with Vanderbilt VOISCE (Vanderbilt Organization for Interdisciplinary Student Community Engagement), hosted a Community Day at Divine Art Cafe & Toffee Art Cafe in East Nasvhille.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Saturday, April 2, the Meharry Medical College/Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center/Tennessee State University Cancer Partnership will host its 15th Annual Cancer Retreat. Rhonda S. Henry-Tillman MD, FACS, a Professor of Surgery from University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR, is the featured speaker, and she will discuss "Reducing Cancer Disparities Through Community Engagement in  Policy Development."

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Medical Grand Rounds will continue on Wednesday, March 9, when the Department of Internal Medicine presents "Heart-Brain Cross Talk: Perioperative Neurological Complications of Cardiovascular Disease and Vice Versa. An Intensivist’s Perspective.” Avinash Bhargava Kumar, MD, FCCP, FCCM is the featured speaker. The lecture will be held at the Kresge Learning Resource Center in Lecture Hall 1 from 12:15 - 1:15 p.m.
