Tennessee State University will host the Summit on Veterans Health, where Holistic Health for Veterans – Physical, Mental, and Spiritual will discuss ways to improve the health and well-being of veterans. Group Health Research Institute/Neely Williams Co-PI approved for $4.5 million for obesity study

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Neely Williams, Co-Principle Investigator (Co-PI) with Group Health Research Institute in partnership with the Mid-South CDRN, has been approved for a three-year $4.5 million funding award from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to study obesity. The study aims to produce results faster and more efficiently by using PCORnet, the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network.

On Aug. 22, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Meharry Amphitheater (21st Avenue between Albion and Meharry Boulevard), the Delta Chapter Omegas and the Meharry Chapter of the NAACP will present the #WeBelieve Campaign & Rally. Organizers are asking all Meharrians, Vanderbilt University Medical Center staff and students to participate in the effort to fight for African American achievement by starting in the minds of black youth.
