Clinical Research

Clinical Research

The focus of the Meharry Vanderbilt Alliance research program is on the design and implementation of programming to mitigate sociocultural and economic barriers that contribute to disparate health outcomes for racial/ethnic minorities and underserved populations.

The Meharry Vanderbilt Alliance research program follows the principles of partnership and community engagement, emphasizing the authentic engagement of patients and community stakeholders in all phases of research.

    U54 - MVTCP, cPACHE Partnership

The Meharry Medical College/Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center/Tennessee State University Cancer Partnership (MVTCP) is focused on the shared goal of eliminating cancer disparities through a proportional approach encompassing basic, translational, clinical, and population science.

NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP)

Wake Forest NCORP provides the opportunity for community physicians to participate in NCI-supported treatment and cancer control and prevention trials. These trials test new approaches to cancer care delivery and the treatment, prevention and detection of cancer-related symptom management and outcomes.

    The Promise Study

    PROMISE Study

The PROMISE study is the first study to test healthy people who may be at risk for early warning signs of a blood cancer called multiple myeloma. Our role is to improve recruitment of blacks into this study.

    HERO study

Healthcare Workers Exposure Response & Outcomes (HERO)

We seek to understand pandemic-related perspectives and problems of anyone in the U.S. who works in any kind of first responder or healthcare setting in any way — or anyone who knows them. Our role is to improve recruitment of blacks into this study.
