Fostering Teamwork and CREDO Values at MVA Team Retreat

Fostering Teamwork and CREDO Values at MVA Team Retreat

On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance team ventured out to Top Golf for a spirited team-building session that proved to be a valuable investment in professional growth and team cohesion. We began with our dedicated storytelling session. Team members willingly shared personal anecdotes, demonstrating vulnerability, resilience, and the diverse experiences that shape us.  By uncovering hidden connections and shared values, we built stronger interpersonal relationships. The exercise reinforced a sense of empathy, and genuine appreciation for the colleagues we work with every day.

A particularly impactful component of the retreat was an in-depth exploration of VUMC's CREDO, examining how these fundamental principles shape our decision-making and team interactions. Led by learning expert, VUMC's own, Julie O'Bryant, our thoughtful dialogue, reinforced the shared mission that unites our team.

We rounded out the retreat amidst laughter and friendly competition! Team members discovered hidden golfing talents (and perhaps some areas for improvement!). This shared experience fostered camaraderie and allowed us to connect outside the traditional work setting.
