MVA community member Neely Williams published in The Tennessean

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Tennesseean recently published an op-ed regarding the need for louder voices in medical research by the Rev. Neely Williams. In it, she highlights the need to start building bridges anchored in trust with the medical community.

"If we are from a community that is underrepresented in the clinical research process," she states in the article, "we are expected to simply make do."

Williams is a community partner consultant at the National Institutes of Health, patient co-investigator for PCORnet’s Mid-South Clinical Data Research Network and the patient co-principal investigator for the PCORnet Bariatric Study. She also serves as the pastor of community concerns at the New Unity Church in Nashville and holds a Master’s of Divinity from Vanderbilt University.
