NASHVILLE, Tenn. Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance Program Coordinator Chante Stubbs, MPH, CPH recently returned to the Harvard Macy Institute Program for Educators in Health Professions in Boston, Mass.

The program, which was a series of courses and workshops aimed at enhancing the professional development of educators in the health professions, included small group discussions, case study methods, large group discussions and flipped classrooms. Stubbs and other attendees covered topics like application of education theory, program assessment, teaching perspectives, personal and professional development and curriculum design.

“This was an invaluable experience that I highly recommend to educators in the health professions,” Stubbs said.

Stubbs has been with the MVA since 2014. In her role, she strives to build lasting ties between members of various health professions, health students and institutions with medical and health-based programs. She is responsible for designing and implementing collaborative interprofessional opportunities for students, educators and community stakeholders.

She originally applied for the program by submitting a description of herself and the Alliance’s community-based inter-institutional interprofessional project – a collaborative program between the academic community and community partners – as well as where she is in her professional career.
