'Back to the Bedside: Reason and Ritual' scheduled Wednesday, Jan. 18

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, the Department of Internal Medicine presents Medical Grand Rounds with featured speaker Abraham C. Vergese, MD, MACP discussing "Back to the Bedside: Reason and Ritual."

Dr. Vergese is a Professor and Linda R. Meier and Joan F. Lane Provostial Professor, and Vice Chair for the Theory and Practice of Medicine at the Stanford University Medical Center School of Medicine.

The lecture will be held from 12:10 - 1:10 pm at the S. S. Kresge Learning Resource Center in Lecture Hall 3.

 

Objectives:

  1. Discuss the historical evolution of the modern diagnostic practice
  2. Identify the unanticipated consequences of computerization
  3. Assess what is timeless in medicine in the ritual of the patient/physician interaction
