Medical Grand Rounds presents 'Prescription for Success'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. On Wednesday, March 16, the Department of Internal Medicine will continue its Medical Grand Rounds lectures with "Prescription for Success" at Meharry Medical College. Howard L. Burley, MD will be the featured speaker. The lecture begins at 12:10 p.m. at the S.S. Kresge Learning Resource Center's Lecture Hall 1.

Burley is Chief Medical Director and Assistant Commissioner at the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services' Division of Clinical Leadership in Nashville.

 

Objectives

  1. Define the “Prescription for Success” statewide strategy
  2. List the consequences of prescription drug abuse
  3. Summarize current efforts to combat the prescription drug epidemic in Tennessee
  4. Discuss examples of current policy work to combat prescription drug abuse
  5. Summarize current strategies in place to curb opioid abuse
  6. Describe the goals of the plan for the future to combat prescription drug abuse in the state of Tennessee
