Medical Grand Rounds presents 'Salivary Proteomics: Implications for Oral and Overall Health'

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Once again, the Department of Internal Medicine presents Medical Grand Rounds, this time with Janet H. Southerland, D.D.S., MPH, Ph.D. discussing "Salivary Proteomics: Implications for Oral and Overall Health."

Southerland is a Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry. She will speak Wednesday, May 11, at 12:15 p.m. in the S.S. Kresge Learning Resource Center, Lecture Hall 1.

  • Define salivary proteomics
  • Discuss the role of salivary proteomics in health disparities research
  • Explain the utilization of salivary proteomics as a diagnostic tool for risk assessment
  • Identify practical applications for use of the technology in improving oral and overall health outcomes
