NASHVILLLE, Tenn. Meharry Research Concierge Services will present "VICTR Funding: The Application and Review Process" on Wednesday, Oct. 14, at the CAHDR Conference Room from noon until 1 p.m. The presentation will provide an overview of the VICTR pilot funding mechanism. Topics will include eligibility and review criteria, types of funding and resources available, funding guidelines and the application and review process.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Researchers for the Meharry-Vanderbilt Alliance met Wednesday, Sept. 30, at a Partnership Grant follow-up meeting to discuss plans for the future and lessons learned in the process of obtaining the $2,500 mini-grant.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Vanderbilt University has received a contract for up to $28 million over the next four years from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to help more than 4,000 clinicians throughout the Southeast "transform” their clinical practices to improve the quality of patient care while holding down costs.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. In 2012, the Meharry Youth Health and Wellness Center received a grant from the Baptist Healing Trust to provide health services for young men who have sex with men, with a special focus on young African American men. In order to fulfill this mission, a partnership was formed with Nashville CARES and StreetWorks, Project ONO and a team of researchers to learn from young men what they would like to have in a health home. Findings from a series of focus groups will be presented.  

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The importance of networking was the central theme at the Meharry-Vanderbilt Student Alliance’s annual Back-to-School Picnic on Sept. 22. MVSA President Terry Lyles told everyone gathered at Nashville’s Centennial Park a network was defined as “a group or system of interconnected things and people.”

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM) will host a workshop titled "Using Evaluation to Strengthen Your Program" on Oct. 7 from 8:30 a.m. until noon.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. The Community Research Partners plan to hold Housing First and Fast: Analysis of How's Nashille Campaign on Friday, Sept. 11, from 8:30 until 10 a.m. Cara Robinson, Assistant Professor in Urban Studies at Tennessee State University, will present a summary of her research and recommendations for future housing initiatives based on input from clients and frontline staff. Tennessee State University will host the Summit on Veterans Health, where Holistic Health for Veterans – Physical, Mental, and Spiritual will discuss ways to improve the health and well-being of veterans. The event will be held at the Avon Williams Campus on Nov. 13 from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.
